3 Ring Rodeo was formed in 2003 by Donny Tomlinson and Sheldon Packwood. While they both were successful sidemen for various artists, they really wanted to 'do their own thing' musically. After enlisting like-minded friends Chad Bilbrey and Justin Alverson, they recorded the first 3 Ring cd, "Don't Send The Invitation If You Don't Want To Party". The boys hit the Texas circuit and formed an immediate fan base. The cd received airplay both at home and overseas, and hit the top 20 on several independent charts.
The boys' next cd, "Another Roll Of The Dice" was released in 2007. Fans soon started requesting new tunes from it, including "Best Man" and "Lay That Whiskey Down", which has recently been receiving airplay again in North Texas.
As the years have gone by, 3 Ring has undergone personnel changes, but by and large, the original vision has remained - fun and music at every show. The band is currently working on a 3rd cd with all new music and moving into some new venues. We are also doing more shows in the "99.5 Mike In The Morning" Concert Series.
